At the end of every year, Kotaku's Stephen Totilo puts together a list of all the video games he played over the last 12 months. It's a neat little exercise in taking a personal inventory. Aside from taking the time to see whether you even remember everything that happened over the course of the year.
2013 felt like a pretty weak year of video game-playing by my own personal standard. The number of games isn't the problem: I don't have the numbers, but I think I may have played more games this year than I did in 2012. Despite the size of the list, though, the list didn't feel "complete" the way it has before.

So here are few amazing things that came out of 2013. They are not the most profound, nor are they incredibly obscure. In fact, these shows/movies/games are best categorized as overlooked. Maybe they popped up on your pop culture radar. Maybe you even heard they were good, but you never got around to checking them out. You should make sure you should get back to these before they get lost with the rest of last year's news.
